To help MLAs learn more about the farm, Team Alberta invited Members of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta and their staff to experience an Alberta harvest in late September. The group participated in a guided tour to a farm that was harvesting at that time. The tour was organized by Alberta Barley, Alberta Canola, Alberta Pulse Growers and Alberta Wheat.

NDP MLAs in attendance included Jon Carson, Erin Babcock, Shaye Anderson, Jessica Littlewood, Michael Connolly and Lorne Dach, in addition to Interim PC leader Ric McIver. APG Food and Nutrition Coordinator Debra McLennan spoke to the group about International Year of Pulses 2016 and how she has been promoting the benefits of pulse consumption to consumers in Alberta.
