Faba Bean Feed Benchmark Sept. 2/18 SEP 4 2018 | Producers

Feed wheat, corn, and barley prices were generally steady across the Prairies over the past two weeks with the exception of feed wheat in Alberta, which increased $10-15/T on poor new crop prospects. Corn DDGS pricing increased by $10-20/T throughout the Prairies. The big story was the drastic drop in protein meal prices over the past week based on very bullish USDA projections on the size of the new crop about to be harvested and increased carryover stocks. Soybean meal plummeted $55-60/T and canola meal fell $30-40/T. Feed pea values remained steady, trading for $238/T in Saskatchewan, $243/T in Alberta, and $255/T in Manitoba.
