2021 Alberta Pulse Advisor Nominations and Elections

Alberta Pulse Growers is seeking Advisors in all five zones. Pulse producers who serve as an Advisor are the grassroots of the membership. Each area has eight voting Advisors who can serve up to three, three-year terms.

In 2021, Advisor nominations are open for all five zones. Advance nominations will be accepted, and elections will take place at the fall AGMs within each zone. See events page on the APG website for information on your local meeting.

Alberta Pulse Growers divides the province into five zones. Each zone elects two Directors from its advisory members. The Provincial Board is made up of two representatives from each of the five zones and two representatives elected at large from the overall membership. The 12 Directors provide guidance for the overall organization provincially.

The Advisory group is formed to identify various activities that benefit the zone. Gain leadership skills, network with your peers and be the first to learn what is happening within the pulse industry. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the future of the industry. Advisors participate in meetings for communication and outreach to provide value to pulse producers. Advisors are invited to participate in a learning engagement session in conjunction with a yearly APG Provincial Board Meeting and have an opportunity to participate on marketing and research committees.

WHO CAN BECOME AN ADVISOR?

Producers must have sold pulses and paid service charges since August 1, 2019 in order to be eligible as an Advisor. Anyone interested in letting their name stand for an Advisor position is asked to complete and submit an advance nomination form by Nov. 12, 2021. Each candidate must be endorsed by another pulse producer from their zone. Link to Nomination form.
