A component of the Alberta Wetland Stewardship Project is ensuring that farmers understand the biodiversity hotspots that these wetlands provide. The vegetative filter strips surrounding the wetlands also mitigate pesticides from entering wetlands and are an important part of crop protection product stewardship.
