New Finance and Planning Assistant is New Contact for Placing PCN Ads and More (PCN Fall 2014) SEP 25 2014 | Consumers and Producers | Pulse Crop News

This article appeared in the Fall 2014 issue of Pulse Crop News.

If you have placed an ad in a recent issue of PCN or inquired about levy collection, you have likely spoken with Jolene Watson.

Watson began as APG’s Finance and Planning Assistant in June with duties including coordinating dealer licenses, overseeing levy collection, arranging Pulse Crop News advertising, and supplying educational publications to schools and health centres. She is excited about how all of these activities contribute to APG’s ability to benefit Alberta pulse producers and grow the industry.

“What attracted me to this new role is branching out into an area of our culture that is new to me,” Watson said. “One of the things that I am looking forward to is the continued promotion of pulses through education at schools and health centres. The resource forms are available on our website.”

She left a career in the oilfield to join the Alberta Pulse Growers’ staff and has a background in finance, purchasing and project coordination. Her new role at APG will allow Watson to utilize all of her skills as she works closely with dealers, producers, suppliers, teachers and health professionals to grow Alberta’s pulse industry.

Watson lives in Leduc County with her husband and two children. When the family isn’t on the go with children’s activities, they enjoy outdoor activities such as camping.

If you would like to place an ad in a future issue of PCN, please contact Watson at jwatson@pulse.ab.ca or call 780-986-9398 ext. 7. Check out the 2015 rate card on Page 29 of this edition.

Resources for schools and health professionals are available for ordering through the APG website http://pulse.ab.ca/consumers/learning-center/print-resources.
