Faba Bean Feed Benchmark (Mar 10/17) MAR 10 2017 | Producers
Grain prices remained mostly stable in the three Prairie provinces over the past two weeks except for a further drop in feed barley values in Manitoba. Corn values remained unchanged in Manitoba but softened by $10-$20/T in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Soybean meal values increased by $10/T in Manitoba and Saskatchewan ahead of the latest USDA report while canola meal values remained largely unchanged. Corn DDGS values remained unchanged across the Prairies. Feed peas and faba bean values were slightly higher in Alberta and Saskatchewan at $245/T and unchanged in Manitoba at $265/T. While the recently released USDA report was bearish for corn and soybean meal values for the coming months, the continuing decline of the Canadian dollar value may partially offset any future price decreases for these commodities in western Canada.
