Faba Bean Feed Benchmark (Mar 27/17) MAR 27 2017 | Producers
Corn and small grain prices remained mostly stable in the three Prairie provinces over the past two weeks except in Manitoba, where local supply/demand conditions for low vomitoxin grains resulted in a decrease of $7/T for barley but an increase of $10/T for feed wheat. There was significant movement downward across the Prairies on both corn DDGS prices as well as soybean meal prices, with the former falling by an average of $10/T and the latter by $20/T. Canola meal values for the most part remained unchanged. Faba bean values were higher in Saskatchewan at $255/T and unchanged in Manitoba at $265/T. Markets closed at the end of this period on a downward trend for corn and soybean meal prices, but the Canadian dollar was also trending lower.
