Feed Pea Benchmark Report Aug. 19/18 AUG 17 2018 | Producers
Feed wheat and barley prices were generally pressured upward across the Prairies as new crop prospects diminished with the hot weather. Corn and soybean meal pricing briefly dropped on the surprise USDA bullish projections for the new crop, but then recovered on news of China and the US possibly resuming trade talks. Corn DDGS prices remained basically unchanged over the past two weeks while canola and soybean meal both recorded increases of $10/T. Feed pea values softened further, trading for $230/T in Saskatchewan, $240/T in Alberta, and $250/T in Manitoba.
