Faba Bean Feed Benchmark Feb. 11/18 FEB 12 2018 | Producers

Prices for all grains remained largely unchanged across the Prairies over the past two weeks. However, cash prices for soybean and canola meal rose sharply by $30/T across the Prairies based mainly on stronger futures markets and a higher Canadian dollar exchange rate. The latest USDA report on world stocks of grains and proteins was supportive for corn, soybean, and wheat prices based on strong export demand for US corn and continuing unfavourable weather conditions in Argentina (world’s largest soybean meal exporter). Feed peas continued to trade in the $240- $250/T range in Alberta and Saskatchewan while in Manitoba, feed peas were priced at $260/T and faba beans commanded prices of $265-270/T.
