Feed Pea Benchmark Report Feb. 25/18 FEB 26 2018 | Producers

Prices for all grains remained largely unchanged in Manitoba and Saskatchewan for this period but corn is beginning to trend higher on stronger futures values. In Alberta prices for all grains rose sharply on strong demand from the feedlot sector. Corn DDGS meanwhile reacted to stronger protein prices and increased by $10-15 across the Prairies. Cash prices for soybean and canola meal continued to escalate based mainly on an overheated futures market for soybean meal and a weakening Canadian dollar. Prices for both commodities rose by $45-50/T. Feed peas traded higher in Alberta with some trades reported at $265/T. Faba beans in Saskatchewan traded at $240/T delivered while in Manitoba pulses traded in the $260-270 range.
